The hip hop and R&B legend will hit the road for the 20th anniversary of her multi-million selling album.
It’s hard to believe it’s been 20 years since Lauryn Hill released one of the most iconic hip hop and R&B albums of all time with The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. And thanks to recent Hill-sampled tracks by Drake and Cardi B, tunes which have been on heavy rotation on the playlist at Drai’s beach club, the artist is set to head out on tour to celebrate the album’s 20th anniversary.
Despite not having released another album since, the mother-of-six is set to cement her place further in the annals of hip hop history with a tour which kicks off in the US July, and which promises remixed and original versions of the tunes that made up her magnum opus.
“This album chronicled an intimate piece of my young existence. It was the summation of most, if not all, of my most hopeful and positive emotions experienced to that date,” said the 42-year-old former Fugee. “I hope the Love and energy that permeated this work can continue to inspire change with Love and optimism at the helm.”
Debuting at number one upon its release in 1998, Miseducation spawned the monster hit Doo Wop (That Thing) and went on to sell over 20 million copies in the US and worldwide.
